Initial Session

The Initial Assessment

During your first appointment, an initial assessment will be made determining the areas of focus needing treatment. The following areas will be taken into account including issues with posture and repetitive strain injuries.

Chronic pain
Lower back pain
Limited mobility
Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)
Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
Postural problems
Muscle tension in the hamstrings, glutes, IT band, legs, quadriceps, upper back
Sciatica
Tennis elbow
Muscle tension or spasm
Post workout

Your medical history will be briefly discussed and a postural assessment made. This involves being observed whilst performing a range of movements. Any restrictions in movement will be examined, to determine the underlying cause.

Once the cause of the symptoms has been identified, and the predisposing factors in your life discussed, treatment can begin. This is a holistic approach involving soft, deep or Swedish massage in which your feedback is required, to achieve the best results.
